What is DIAGNOdent?
The DIAGNOdent is a system used to detect dental caries. It is used to detect very small lesions at the earliest stage, which allows dentists to provide the smallest of restorations if needed. The device is able to see into occlusal pits and fissures which enables dentists to treat subsurface carious lesions at their earliest stage. (Cyberdentistry, 2010)
There is an additional tip that can be added to the DIAGNOdent that can assist dental hygienists in their treatments regarding periodontal debridement. This addition is called the DIAGNOdent Perio probe
